Aikido of South Florida donating
to Operation Smile
Stephanie Yap, Chief Instructor at Aikido of South Florida, will be instructing
a seminar in Viña del Mar, CHILE May 16 & 17th, 2015 and will be donating
a portion of her fees for one child to receive the operation that will change
their life - FOREVER. Together we can make a difference!
Operation Smile provides free surgeries to repair cleft lip, cleft palate and other facial deformities for children around the globe.
What is a cleft lip and
cleft palate?
A cleft is an opening in the lip,
the roof of the mouth or the
soft tissue in the back of the
mouth. A cleft lip may be
accompanied by an opening in
the bones of the upper jaw
and/or the upper gum.
A cleft palate occurs when the
two sides of a palate do not
join together, resulting in an
opening in the roof of the
mouth. A cleft lip and palate
can occur on one side or both
sides. A child can suffer from a
cleft lip, a cleft palate or both.
Hollywood Outreach Center Clothes Drive 2015
I would like to thank all the members of Aikido of South Florida for their generous donations to the Hollywood Crisis Center for the homeless. To no great surprise, and with full confidence, we all came together and exceeded our goals and proved once again the power through unity in our dojo, friends and family.

Hitohira Saito
Hitohira Saito Sensei, began his Aikido education at the tender age of seven under the direct tutelage of the Founder, Morihei Ueshiba. He continued this training under O'Sensei until the master's demise in 1969, at which time he automatically continued his learning under O'Sensei's chief disciple, his own father, Morihiro Saito, 9th dan.

Testimonials
Based from my inquiry and observation of the classes before joining, as well as my first-hand experience with Sensei Stephanie Yap and the sempai (higher belters), I can attest that they really know their craft. Being in aikido class for me is a therapy. It de-stresses and helps me cope with depression caused by the struggles of my personal life and my stressful work.
